• During great hardships of family, Santosh Sahni held a big joint family very strongly at Sitapur and steered through all odds without letting anyone feel the heat. She was born in Uchhri in well-known Bhariyal family, presently in Pakistan, educated at Hathras (U.P.) and was teaching before marriage. She has great self-esteem, is very pious and God-fearing.
  • Dr. G.R. Sahni shifted to Sitapur (U.P.) to join as H.O.D. Economics at R.M.P.Degree College in 1962; completed his Ph.D. in 1971 from Kanpur University on ‘Labour’ problems. He joined as founder principal of G.U. Degree College Baheri, Bareilly (U.P.) in 1973 and retired in 1996. During his tenure the college got P.G. status.
  • Sweets and Sours:

(a) As a class I student, Kirti was paraded in fancy dress competition with a girl as Dulha-Dulhan and was adjudged the best. Few days after, on seeing that girl in a theater he went shouting her as ‘my dulhan’ and created a tizzy situation.

(b) As a three year old boy met Sh. Madhav Rao Sadashiv Rao Golwalkar (Guruji), Sarsangchalak (Chief) who was staying with our family; blessed me immensely after listening the ‘Prarthanaa’ – the prayer song of RSS.

(c) Teachers of M.G.M. Inter-College, Baheri were requested by father to slap me if ever I misbehaved.

(d) During summer vacations worked in dye factory and in book-shop of relatives as a trainee labor to growing habit to work hard and learn respect/ dignity of labor.

  • Activities:

(a) Took part in almost all debates, declamation, dramatics and one act plays and almost all attempts were fruitful, during student life.

(b) Served displaced Sikh families in Delhi during and after anti-Sikh riots in 1984. Gyani Zail Singh (Ex-President, Republic of India) inaugurated Mata Gujri Charitable Dispensary at Tilak vihar and personally appointed me as a Physician. This disepensary was situated in slums of displaced Sikh families during and after riots.

(c) Donated all articles of previous clinics in Prashant Vihar Gurudwara

(d) Donated all previous savings of Charitable clinic to Ashok Vihar Gurudwara.

(e) Active member of social activities in various organizations like Ramlila Committee Market Associations, Dadhichi Dehdan Samiti and Resident Welfare Associations.

  • Awards:

a) Honoured at Aarogya Mela by CBMD in 2002 – a Quasi-Government Undertaking Organization for social medical services.

b) Board of Homœopathic System of Medicine, Delhi – (i) Dr. Yudhvir Singh Award in 2004. (ii) ‘Appreciation Award’ for services to community in 2011.

c) Parent college, Homœopathic Medical College Abohar (Punjab) awarded ‘Distinguished Student Award’ in 2005.

  • Social Service:

a) Secretary, Dadhichi Deh Dan Samiti Delhi to encourage people for donating whole body or organs after death.

b) All my family members have already donated their body organs after death in 2002.

c) Various social activities with RSS since childhood.

  • Living with parents and children. Children pursuing medical studies. Wife is a government officer and is balancing the act of job and family very well.
  • As a traveler travelled through Kailash Mansarover, Amarnath, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Gomukh, Sirdi Sai Baba, Tirupati, Ajanta Caves, Western Ghats of Maharashtra and many other places.
  • Persons inspired and inspiring are

a) Dr. Govind Ram Sahni (father) and Smt. Santosh Sahni (mother) from whom getting constant blessings, moral boosting and personality development.

b) Late Faqir Chand and Parameshwari Bhasin – maternal grandparents, who encouraged mental stamina.

c) My maternal uncle Sh. Rajendra Bhasin & Mrs. Sangita Bhasin for giving me place at their home despite of hardships during my internship in Delhi.

d) Dr. N. C. Chatterjee – Guru, Teacher and Motivator, who is a real star in my professional life, what I am today.

e) Bhagat Singh and Chandrashekhar Azad – courage, sacrifice and patriotism.

f) Swami Vivekananda – Spiritualism

g) Guruji Madhav Rao Sadashiv Rao Golwalker, Sarsanchalak (Chief) of RSS – who instilled morality, patriotism and social service.

h) Late Ram Narayan and Krishna Kapoor – who threw new light in life during struggles in Delhi.
